Chief Financial Officer at CLOVR Life Spa Franchising & RedLine Athletics

I graduated from the University of Minnesota and began my career at The Pillsbury Company in Minneapolis. Over the years I moved into various finance positions in departments such as Risk Management and Credit, as well as different business units such as Pillsbury International and Häagen-Dazs.

In 2001 my family of five moved to Arizona to start a new life of business ownership and warmer weather. We lived in the East Valley and over the years we worked hard to start and purchase companies in the senior services and health care industry. Eventually we owned and operated businesses in the areas of: publishing, skilled nursing, private duty home care, assisted living, durable medical equipment and hospice.

In 2010 my path changed direction. I left those business and went out on my own. I started by getting an MBA from Grand Canyon University’s Ken Blanchard Executive MBA program. Since that time I have been the Controller or CFO of five different franchise concepts (some of them concurrently). In addition, my business partners and I have also consulted for other franchise concepts and together we founded and are owners of our new day spa franchise.

Presently I am the CFO of Spa Acquisitions, LLC which is a national franchisor of membership based day spas that has just been re-branded to the name CLOVR Life Spa. I am also the CFO of RedLine Athletics which franchises youth athletic training centers nationally. I really enjoy franchising as it allows me to work strategically at the corporate level, while also giving me the opportunity draw from my business ownership experience when working with franchisees.

In recent years I have been living in Scottsdale. My favorite hobby is travel, with my most recent trips to Finland and Barcelona this past summer. My next adventure will be a trip to Italy, France and Spain in the fall. I am the proud parent of a son and two daughters, ages 27, 25 and 21 respectively. All three in college or grad school out of state so that creates more travel opportunities for me.

Jill Barnard originally introduced me to AzBL last year, but I could not fit it into my schedule. Fortunately, Doug Gnas recently rejuvenated my interest. What attracted me to AzBL the most is the diversity of industry, business size and functional expertise of the members. I am really looking forward to getting to know the members and building long-lasting relationships.
