In August 2005, Mr. Romano was responsible for the launch of First National Bank of Arizona’s newest division, First Heritage Capital, a nationwide lending platform focused on providing long term financing for small and medium sized borrowers through secondary marketing relationships and through the U.S. Small Business Administration 7(a) and 504 loan programs. First Heritage has a lending presence spanning from Los Angeles to Miami with centralized processing in Scottsdale, made possible through the development of a proprietary software license obtained on an exclusive basis, known as Waterway Command Center. The software is unique to the industry and provides First Heritage with a competitive advantage with streamlined and standardized underwriting, documentation and servicing.
Mr. Romano began his banking career in 1997 as a Commercial Lending Credit Analyst with the National Bank of Arizona in Tucson. A few months later, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending in Flagstaff and two years later promoted to Branch Manager/Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending in Phoenix. After a brief stint as Vice President of the Commercial Real Estate Banking Group for Bank of America in Phoenix, Mr. Romano joined First National Bank of Arizona as the Vice President of the Real Estate Construction Lending Department in 2001. In 2002, he was promoted to Senior Vice President for Commercial Lending, where he restructured and co-managed the Bank’s middle-market Commercial Lending department. During his time in Commercial Lending, the department’s portfolio grew from $60 million in outstanding to over $400 million.
Tim Romano received his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Arizona. He and his wife Kristin reside in Scottsdale and enjoy their time with sons Andrew and Tommy. His personal interests include golf and squash.
